Dual Boot Windows 8 Without Partitioning your HD

Windows 8 consumer preview is scheduled to be released today, that's on February 29, so if you already have Windows 7 installed and you want to try out the new Windows 8, but you aren't ready to format since Windows 8 is still in beta and the chances are that there are some things that are broken.

Then here is the guide on how to get all the goodness of Windows 8 (I'm using Windows 8 Developer preview here) along side Windows 7 without partitioning or formatting your hard disk drive. The only thing that is required in order to dual boot is a hard drive with at least 20 Gigs of free space. All you have to do is create a Virtual Hard Drive using Windows 7 and Install Windows 8 on it using Powershell.

8 Free Peer-To-Peer File sharing Services

Though there are many free file sharing services on the web which allows you to send files to others, but the process requires uploading the files first and often registering with the file sharing service.

Browser based Peer to Peer (P2P) free file transfer services are good alternatives, as they are browser based thus requires no installation of some program. Secondly, no file size limit. You can send large size files with no limit. And not to forget as its P2P therefore no uploading, just transferring of files.

Norton DNS : Protect your system from unsafe Websites

The Domain Name System is an essential component of the functionality of the Internet. DNS translates domain names into IP addresses. Most Internet users are using their Internet Service Provider’s DNS server. Though it's convenient to use the ISP's DNS, its not the safest.

Alternatively you can use Public DNS. Popular ones are Open DNS and Google DNS. Another good alternative is Norton DNS which act as a first layer of defense against unsafe, fraudulent, phishing and infected Web sites. Norton DNS is free for home users.

GetHopper : Easily save files & content Online

GetHopper.com is an online service that lets you save content such as texts, images and links by copying and pasting it (using Ctrl + V), or just by dragging it into the webpage.

Hopper is a paste bin for anything.

Every saved content has its own link which can be used later to access the file or content by any device having an internet connection. Users can upload and access the files and information without registering,  which turns it into a great tool for capturing content on the fly.

AlternativeTo : Find Alternatives for your Programs

I often find myself in situations where i need an specific program but i'm not ready to pay for it. So i google for free alternatives. Alternativeto.net offers an interesting approach for finding alternative program or service that is like something you know. Just search the application that you want to find the alternatives for, and alternativeto.net will give you suitable alternatives. It offers alternative programs for Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, Online services and iPhone.
